⚙️ How the rotation works
Starting lineup

You pick who starts Game 1. From Game 2 onwards the app chooses automatically, always picking the players who have had the least time on the pitch, following your formation shape where possible.

Substitutions

All subs happen at half-time. Once a player comes off they stay off for the rest of that game. The app decides who comes off and on to keep playing time as even as possible across the squad, swapping like-for-like positions where it can.

Fairness

The app works out who sits out the whole game across all games before building any lineup, working through the squad so everyone gets a rest before anyone gets a second one. Within each game, players with less time are picked to start and come on first.

Ability Ratings

Each player has an ability rating from 1 to 10. The total ability on the pitch is shown for each half in every game card — so you can see at a glance how balanced the games are. Equal playing time is still the engine; use the Reshuffle button to explore different arrangements if you want the ability totals more even across games.

Core Players

Tap a player's number in the squad list to mark them as a Core Player — their number turns blue. Core players are always the last to be given a full game off. Within the same group, non-core players sit out first. This is only visible in setup and won't show on the printed schedule.

Goalkeeper

A dedicated goalkeeper plays every game and is not part of the rotation. Their time is shown in the stats table but doesn't affect anyone else's share.
